GE Profile Clothes washer: Used only 4 months, but machine 4 years old and has been shipped to Dominica where there are no GE repairmen or parts. Can use electronic controls but have to keep resetting by holding down start/stop button for 10 seconds and then all the time the washer is working, it is beeping -- most annoying. Screen wants to default to My Cycles instead of main screen. Is all this likely a failure of the mother board or is it possibly caused by something else? Is it on its way out or likely just something that could be lived with?
The mother board part # is 385OEA4011A, but GE doesn't recognize this. From its diagram, I get a WH12X10282 as likely part #. GE lists this as $492
Many thanks,
Karen

It does sound like the main control board, and given its cost and the general unreliability of this machine I strongly recommend not fixing it.
Try to live with it as long as you can, and then see if you can replace it with a good basic new or used top loader. The less bells and whistles, the better.
Good luck
