Today (Thanksgiving of all days) my Tappan elec stove quit working w/o notice. It was working fine for hours then just quit heating? The element lights come on (and the oven light) when the knobs are turned on but they are not heating. The oven is not heating either. I must mention the clock/timer has not been readable for some time so I cannot see any codes or numbers. I have researched the part number (ap39556392) for the clock/timer and it's cost is around 100 dollars. I just want to make sure if this may be the problem before ordering the part and spending money if that is not the problem. Thank you in advance for any help.

Here are your parts Replacement parts for Tappan TEF326FBA Tappan/range | AppliancePartsPros.comAlthough the stove top elements and oven elements both run off of 240 volts, they are controlled separately. Since none of them work I would lean towards a power problem. Try flipping the breaker off/on slowly a couple times. Sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker. If this does nothing, check the voltage at the plug L1 to L2 should be 240 volts L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts. If OK Unplug the unit and check the wires at the terminal strip in the machine to make sure none are loose or burned out If OK Check the power at the terminal strip. Do this with the heater off and on.
