HELP! My 2 1/2 year old Maytag washer is leaking about 1/3 cup of water only when set on "Delicate cycle" and "handwash". It does not matter what the water level is set on.

This just started happening. It seems to be leaking from somewhere under the washer.

Well this is not supposed to happen. It's supposed to leak in all cycles, or not leak in any cycles.

Here's what you need to do. You want to operate the machine with the front panel off and observe and find the leak. To do this, use a screw driver or putty knife to release the clips holding the top to the base by inserting the tool in the crevice between the top and the base at the front, releasing the clips. These clips are near but not at the outer edge.

You can then take off the front panel by undoing two screws that hold it in. Then start the washer in the delicate cycle and observe it filling, agitating and draining. You will see the leak.

Good luck, and let us know what you find out.
