I have a Frigidaire Garbage Disposal, Model FD5500D, and I'm trying to find a reset button on it, but can't - is there any other way to reset it? I'm trying to reset it because when I plug it in it trips the circuit breaker.

Doesn't look like there is a reset button on this model. Either way, sounds like there is a short - not something that could be reset. There is either something inside the disposer, like a faulty motor, or outside (power cord, socket, on/off wall switch) shorting out and tripping the breaker.

I wouldn't recommend replacing any parts on this model. Too costly and it's not a good one anyway (sorry :) ). If the source of the short is the disposer itself, get a new one instead. You can get an Insinkerator Badger 5 1/2 hp for about $70-$90.

Hope this helps.
