I installed a brand new Icemaker - Whirlpool - Model # D7824706Q and it's not making ice. As I took the old icemaker out and I was careful to note how it came out. I installed the new icemake backtracking on how I took the old one out. The electrial hook up was simple since it's just a plug and there was nothing to directing the water line into the icemaker. I turned the freezer back on and thought that once the temperature was cold enough, the icemaker would do it's thing, but no ice and it's be over 24 hours after installation. Infact, there's no water in the icemaker's reservoir.......How does the freezer know when to pump the water into the icemaker? And yes, I put the icemaker's bar down into the ice making position. I'm guessing the problem is either there's a problem with my water line ( which I did not mess with on taking the old icemaker out) or the electrical is not funtioning.

Sure would appreciate some advise.............thanks

Check the water feeding tube into the ice maker for a frost built up.

If there is nothing wrong and the water dispenser works then locate the water valve (#7 on the diagram) on the back of the fridge and swap the wire plugs between the solenoids. Push the water dispenser lever and check if there is water in the ice maker. If there is water then replace the water valve.

- The part number for the water valve is AP4134853
