Dryer was heating and working great except the plastic timer knob wore out. Replaced with new timer, now dryer will not heat.

Recheck your connections. Make sure none of them is loose. Check to make sure you have the right power for the unit. For any further suggestions, we need a model number.

If your timer's like this, it should be simple to check. The terminals are marked with the wire color codes. (I always recommend that you take a digital photo of the thing before removing any wires [AND replace one wire at a time]). Did you get a chance to test it in all the different cycles?
