The timer on my kenmore washer was bad, and as a result, it ran on the wash cycle for at least 90 min. before it was realized. I replaced the timer, but now the motor makes a hum and doesn't agitate, but it does spin. Do you think the motor is bad even though it is able to spin but won't agitate. Is it time to calll in an expert or replace the machine? thanks

Most likely the problem is a bad motor. The motor on your washer is reversible - it moves for spin and for agitate in different directions. - The part number for the motor AP2907254 Gene.
