maytag dryer keeps stopping/turning off and shows an 'error' code of 6e and for the life of us we haven't been able to fix this problem nor have we had any luck in locating the description of this code.:confused: thanks

There is two things what could cause such problem.

The first thing is a restricted air flow due to clogged vent. Disconnect the vent hose from the dryer and run a couple loads without the hose. If it would run fine then the vent inside walls has to be cleaned.

If there is nothing wrong with the vent then the problem is a bad thermistor (#10 on the blower housing break down diagram).
