Hello, I have a Maytag MAV6300AWW washer unit that does nothing. One day it worked okay, the next day it did nothing. I have checked the outlet and it still has power. There were no noises or surges, it just didn't do anything when we set it and pulled the knob. I have checked the drive belt and it has good tension and moves freely. The tub, on the other hand, is very difficult to spin clockwise. I have the cabinet removed and the base pulled out slightly, but spinning the belt doesn't seem to move anything. I have called multiple service places, which no one bothered to pick up, and i have called Maytag twice, but they have no tech support only repair scheduling. I was curious if anyone knew what could be the problem and what it might cost to fix, or whether or not an amateur should even try. Thank you.

I am assuming it will not fill, that it just does nothing from the beginning.
Unfortunately this can be several things, and you need a meter to start checking to see if you have power coming into the timer, and continuity on a lid switch. At the end of the day you may just have to start replacing parts until you get the right one in there.
These electrical types of problems are not difficult but you will need a multi meter.
