Does anyone have any info on this error code and how to fix it? I have a 14 month old Dacor Double oven wall mount- "Top 'o the line" so they told me --$5700 worth... Anyway, I NEVER use the bottom oven. Maybe once in the entire 14 months that I've owned this beast. This Thanksgiving dinner was at my place and I when I tried to fire the bottom oven up, it won't work! L60 is what the display says. I found ONE reference to this code online - Lower Cooling Fan failure. HuH! I won't even ask how that could be with only one use in the past year, but how convenient that the unit is now 2 months out of warranty and I've got Christmas Dinner to prepare for 20 people.
HELP!!

Yes, the error code L60 means a lower oven cooling fan failure. The complete description of the problem and solutions you can find in the service manual (page 12). Most likely the problem is just blocked air flow and you would not have to replace any parts, but just in case: - The part number for the cooling fan AP4087095 To find out the right part number for the relay board I need the serial number of the oven. Thanks for your rapid response. I have another question or two..
In speaking with the Dacor folks they gave me the reset code so that I can continue to use the top oven (Control+Secure+#, S1234). It worked!
Now when I activate the bottom oven it heats, but the fan does not spin AND the display tells me to "close the door" even tho it is shut.
Q1) Will I harm the oven if I continue to use the upper unit?
Q2) How do I diagnose a bad relay board? (cant find the serial number on the oven, but the sticker on the front of the manual says MOV230S*V-C-06090415)
Q3) How can I access the full Service Manual so I can utilize the "Service Screens" as described in the Service manual?
I'm pretty handy with electrical so I'm sure I can handle the replace/repair as long as I have your forum to hold my hand:).

(1) I do not think if you continue to use the upper oven will cause any damages to the lower one. (2) The name plate with the model and the serial numbers is behind the upper door latch access panel. You can read it through the vents. The diagnostic procedure described in the service manual, posted previously. (3) You can find the information about "Service Screens" in the second part of the service manual, but you have to have a Service ID # in order to use it with your oven. Gene.

hi gene, i get the above error code and the technician has ordered and ecr controller.
the upper oven works and I am able to use it.
From your last thread, it seems that we would need to order a cooling fan.
you seem to be knowledgeable about this.
Could you let me know if they are on the right path to fix this thing.
thanks, kd

I hope this technician performed a troubleshooting and he properly diagnosed the problem. If you check the service manual, ERC is even not listed as a possible source of this problem. Show to him the service manual and ask him to perform the troubleshooting according to the manual. You have to pay for repair only if the oven is fixed.
Gene.

Hi Gene, Imagine my surprise when I found your recent reply so long after our initial conversation. And on the same day that I began getting the error code again! Are you a professional mind reader, or is that just a part time gig?!:D
I have been using the bottom oven for the past year or so (only occasionally) using a thin magnet over the mag-switch in the upper right hand corner of the door jam- seems to have worked well.. so far. Yesterday I began getting the L60 notice again. I had forgotten about our conversation on this board from 2 years ago, and I thank you very much for your help back then.
I will try the steps you gave me then, again, and I'll let you know if they work this time.
Jon

Re-reading the thread, I see that "nykigudia" is having the same problem that I had so long ago and his post explains the mind reading. How fortunate that the board emailed me your response to him as well.
nykigudia - If there is anything I can do to help just let me know...

thanks gene, the person that came in didn't do anything.
didn't even turn the oven on.
they looked at it, wrote me a little ticket and said they needed to order this part.
It has been over two weeks and they haven't gotten the part. do you think we could do the trouble shooting ourselves.
