I have a maytag dryer I have owned for nearly 20 years the thing has stopped makeing heat. The motor runs and the fan blows but no heat. I have taken it appart and the heater assembly appears to be fine there are no breaks in the heating element. The fuse tests as Ok with an Ohm meter and thermal switch shows no readings at all with an Ohm meter. Does any one have any ideas as to what might be wrong? Thanks G

Here are your parts includes a wiring layout. Replacement parts for MAYTAG LDE8424ACE DRYER- ELE | AppliancePartsPros.com and thermal switch shows no readings at all with an Ohm meter. Not sure which part you are referring to. Item 8 in Section 7 is the temperature control thermostat. It is 4 connector. One set of connectors is it's contacts, they should read 0 ohms. The other set is an internal heater they are usually in the 10,000 to 20,000 ohm range. Item 11 in Section 6 is the hi-limit thermostat, it should read 0 ohms. |
