My freezer on this Maytag fridge w/a bottom freezer works great. But there is no longer cold air coming into the fridge. I tried turning up the cool air, but nothing. Any ideas? Model MBF2256KEW, about 2 years old.

The fan in the freezer does work, so I'll check out the part you suggested.
THANK YOU!
I sure hope I can replace it myself ... I am so poor right now! =)

I don't see any screws for part 13 but the diagram makes it look like i can just pop the firt part offf, and maybe find a screw under it.
Will that work? I sure don't want to break any other parts ... =)
Thanks very much, by the way, for your insight.

You have to remove the insert (#7) and there are two screws behind it.

Gene. Gene: I got the part mentioned, but the fridge started working again after I had it unplugged for a couple of days, so I returned the part. Now I am having this problem again. The freezer, even on its lowest setting, is really, really cold. The fridge gets cool after I have left it unplugged for a day, but then starts getting warm again. It feels like all the cold air that is being made for the freezer that is intended for the fridge is staying in the freezer. Does it seem like a damper control, or perhaps something else? The maytag freezer on bottom unit is becoming very frustrating. Here is a link to our original posts from April 2009. http://forum.appliancepartspros...ridge-warm-new-post.htmlIs it possible that the problem is related to something else other than part AP4373610 (W10196393) CONTROL 1 $38.72 for the Maytag freezer on bottom unit

Thanks. I reordered damper control, and got it yesterday (very quick). So I will give it a shot.
My in-laws have been having a lot of trouble with their Maytag appliances in the past couple of years. It seems like the quality has really taken a nosedive since Sears sold them. Are you finding that to be the case?

Well, I go it done, and it only took 9 minutes -- and 4 of that was me being stumped on how to actually remove the old damper control without breaking the plastic clamps holding it in. Now, if it works, I will be so thankful.

Gene:
I replaced the damper control and it helped for a couple of days; but the frisge is still too warm and the freezer is too cold! It seems like the cold air from the freezer might be freezing the line that takes the cold air from the freezer to the fridge. Is this fridge just a terrible design, or is there some way I can fix it correctly?
