There is no drain tube to clean that you can see from the outside. Removing the back panel appears to be quite a task. Is this the only way to solve this problem of water pooling in bottom? Mine has no freezer, frige only. Thank you.

Here is a parts breakdown Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL EL7ATRRKQ01 | AppliancePartsPros.comLooks like your drain tube is at the bottom of the unit (Item 13 in the "Cabinet, literature" section. Check at the drip tray to be sure it is not clogged here with dust etc. You could blow it clear with compressed air (just keep the pressure down) or what often works is a turkey baster and some warm water. Once clear flush it with a 10% bleach solution. Stuff likes to grow here and you want to kill it and flush it out. |

There is no part #13 for draining. Smooth bottom. This tube is inside the back of the unit and "appears" to have to be accessed by removing the back unless there is a trick I am not aware of. You can see a short part of this tube by lying down and looking up inside the back but it is not easily accesable. Thanks.

They must have changed the design.
Have you tried removing the cover from the evaporator coils?
The drain should be just under them. |

I'll try it this evening when I get home. I guess this problem wasn't thought about when redesigned. It's flat backed, no tube, and very hard to get to underneath. I'm not sure what it is your talking about but I'll examine it and see if I can figure it out. Thank you so very much for your help.

Just noticed something. The door is warped at the bottom and condensation is heavy along side of door. But didn't think it was enough to cause that much water to accumulate. Is that a possibility?

It is a possibility since you see a lot of condensation.
If it is running down and can get into the unit, it could accumulate surprisingly fast one drop at a time.
Without actually being there I cannot give an real opinion.
In any case I would fix this first as it needs to repaired whether it is the cause of not. |
