Operation of cook cycles was accelerated, times raced by on the clock. Removed the control module, and tested the membrane switch connection ribbon, three or more keys open. Have not yet checked the PC board or mounted and attached components, but suspect control anomalies cause the short cycles without sufficient heating. Any recommendations for narrowing further search, since I ordered a replacement membrane assembly, will be welcome. Ken

Hey, c'mon guys; I need a little counsel here and am no part of an appliance technician, just a homeowner trying to salvage this beast hanging over my kitchen range. Pls. give a look at these crazy symptoms, with the timer clock racing at ten times normal speed and little to no heat generated on any cook cycle. Give me the benefit of your experience.

Hi Ken, It sounds to me like the control board aka a microcomputer has gone bad. If you did not install the membrane switch yet then do not do it because the microcomputer has been discontinued and is no longer available. Looks like it's time for a new microwave. Gene, Thanks a million for your insight on the CMOS suspicion, I'll try to return the membrane switch arriving any day now, rather than reasemble the whole unit to find no improvement, without recourse to an obsolete substitute. I appreciate your help withs this struggle. Regards from Riverside county, after fleeing Anaheim 6 yrs. ago, Ken

Ken,
You are welcome. It was probably too cold for you in Anaheim?
Gene.
