Basically you can do it with it on the wall. Open over, remove top cover. Remove left most forward screw that retains another cover. Carefully bend it up (pretty flexible).. You don't have to take it down at all. I had the whole thing apart and just couldn't remember where the light actually came from. Once I saw the pictures, it took 30 seconds to fix.
