First, I tried looking up my Kenmore Coldspot model number (106955983) 2-97 and I cannot find it even at Sears Parts dot Com. I copied directly off the sticker inside the refer so I do not understand why no one has a reference to this number. Would it do any good to call them to get a service manual that tell how to take off this cover?
I have a broken light and I think it is the light switch inside the ice/water dispenser on the freezer door.Feels kind of loosy goosy, no resistence when sliding off or on
How do I remove the black plastic cover without breaking it? There are no exposed screws and when I pull on it to the point I think it may break, it does not come off.
What is the secret to removing this very expensive cover(Guessing).
My model has the Water and Ice Dispenser with two little push controls for the cup. There is a selector switch for ice/crushed and a light switch on the panel.

Remove most dispenser covers by gently prying going round and round a little at a time to prevent from breaking it. When it's off the screws will be exposed to access the other components.
