Which cycle (wash/spin) is it in when it makes this noise?

Tilt it back and remove the belt. Turn the pump (the smaller pulley) in both directions by hand. If it makes noise, replace it. Tell us what you find.

Today I removed the belt and turned the pump pulley and it has that "grinding" noise. I am going to order the pump this afternoon from applianceprtspros.com. Thank you "Magician59" for the advice. God bless you!

Thank you "Magician59" for the advice. God bless you! I just replaced mine yesterday. I waited too long to figure out what was making the loud noise and my whole washer seized up in the middle of the spin cycle and made a nice burning smell. Good thing you caught it early. Good luck.
