I have a Roper Dryer (model # res7648kq1) that stopped heating. The timer also died. My wife had a local tech come by and said the timer and heating element is out. He quoted her about 275.00 to fix. We went to look for another dryer, but most are about 300.00, not wanting to spend that much I just bought a new timer and heating element, and put them in.

Problem is that the heater and the timer still don't seem to be working. i double checked all the connections and they are fine. What else could be the problem here?

Couple of other things, I can't find any fuses or breakers (at least that are easily accessable). I got to wondering if I need to replace the thermostat as well. I can see how that would prevent the heat element from working, but would it affect the timer???
