Last night I noticed the items on the top shelf of the freezer weren't cold. I assumed the door hadn't been shut all the way, made sure it was, and went to bed. This morning I noticed the top of the freezer still isn't cold and neither is the fridge (GE side-by-side). There was also a small pool of water coming out from under the bottom of the fridge side. Any guesses? The middle and bottom portions of both freezer and fridge seem cold enough. Ice maker is producing some barely solid ice cubes.

There is also frost forming on the back wall of the freezer side, inside the freezer. And there's a little pool of water on the floor below the middle of the whole unit.

If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

check , defrost heater, defrost thermostat here- Refrigerator Repair Guide: How To Fix a Refrigerator - ACME HOW TO.com

If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control board. Part 801 on this diagram of your sealed system & motherboard.
