The compressor runs constantly with few interruptions or stops that we hear. The upper freezer compartment freezes and the icemaker makes ice. There is no buildup of ice in the freezer compartment suggesting the defrost cycle is OK. The lower compartment is cold and the food seems to have a normal chill. However, spouse mentioned recently that lettuce in a bag at the bottom was frozen. I am confident the electric utility is pleased with the situation but we are not. The unit obviously runs but a control unit is not recognizing when the called for temperature has been reached. Any suggestions or steps to be taken to determine what is not working/responding? The Amana Temp-Assure thermostat for both refrigerator and freezer is not available~apparently. Thank you.

Thank you for so quick a response. The cold control, AP4128361 is listed for Amana TJ22N, is this unit compatible with Amana refrigerator/freezer TZ23QL? Also, is the electrical wire connection to the cold control straight forward with easy hookup to the cold control in the refrigerator?

Sorry for the delay, have been out of town. Freezer temp. held at -2 to +4, food storage temp. ranged from 38 to 43 F. Since temps. seemed reasonable did a second and much more thorought cleaning of the heat exchanger on the bottom. Rolled it out and did what we should have done in the first place. The running times are now much more normal. Do want to thank you for jumping into this questilon so quickly. Have a new file for AppliancePartsPros.com for the future. Thank You, Blue Claws (as in a good eating crab)
