In order to get the access to the control panel you have to remove the top grill first.

What did you mean "stops working"? What it does and what it does not?
The model number you provided is incomplete.

Hi Gene...It is GE, mod. JVM 186 1SD 002. Took out all the covers required. The power board has 6 fingers ---1 stiiking in thrue the frame. The board seems it suppose to slide out upward, could not. Where I can get service manual. No print inside. No screws holding the board....Thanks ABE ...707 586 0543

Gene, in 50 years, I never saw worse than this micro.,I tried again today, it sound unbeateble. If you don't see it you wan't beleive me. I could see 3 screws one on top by the jumper support. and two on the bottom (you have to turn it upside down) to see it, and these 3 screws are put from inside the board. so again how to open the board ?? ABE
