My dishwasher has always had a slight leak, but now it is really bad. I finally found that the leak is coming from a crack in an off white plastic piece underneath the dishwasher approx. in the middle. I am trying to figure out what the part number is, and how I fix it.

Dear dmccorkle,

If you find the leak coming from the motor/pump assembly part number AP2616850 there are two common places it leaks from. You can either replace the whole assembly or check the impellor seal kit part number AP631386 or the seal part number AP2038837 located near the drain valve.

Most likely the problem is a broken seal inside the pump.

There are two ways to fix it.

1. You can buy the impeller & seal kit and repair the old pump (it comes with the installation instructions)
or
2. You can replace the whole pump & motor assembly.

In both cases the dishwasher has to be removed from the cabinet.

Gene.

The installation instructions must be included in the kit. You have to talk to them about it.
