My Roper refirgerator will not cool enough. The icecream turns to milkshake, and the frige side is just barely cold enough. I here the unit cycling on and off in what seems to be a normal cycle. I removed the back paper panel and the what I believe is the compressor (Black round bulb) is very hot to touch. The coils underneath were clean. The bar inbetween the refrig and freezer is extemely hot. Now I have not ever disasembled a unit but I have been extemely successful in everything I have tried so I am willing to give this a shot. How do I disasemble the frig to look at the internal coils? Could this be just a thermastat? Where is the thermastat? The back of the fridge has a large metal galvanized sheet. Can I remove this? I just want to find a few directions to take. In the meantime I will continue to do troubleshooting with possible attempts. The model number is RS25AGXNQ01, serial number 53745366

Here are your parts Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL RS25AGXNQ01 REFRIGERATOR | AppliancePartsPros.comWas the condenser/compressor fan running? You may have two problems. The hot divider usually means that the condenser coils are not getting rid of the heat properly. You have checked the condenser coils hence the fan question, also check that the vents on the front kick plate are clean. That the unit is cycling but the freezer is not getting cold enough points towards a thermostat (Item 9 in Section 11) problem. The unit thinks that it is hitting the set-point temperature and is therefore cycling when it fact the temperature is too high, I think. I would check the temperature in the freezer, it should be 0 to 5 degrees F. Here is a good link that should help with your troubleshooting http://www.applianceaid.com/frig.html |
