So the house I bought came with a set of Maytag units. After about 3 months the tdryer timer was hard to pull on so I ordered a new timer. Put that in and now my timer won't advance in either timed mode or auto mode. I have made sure all the sensor wires and stat wires are connected, dryer vent is clean and sensor has been cleaned with alcohol. Any ideas? Frustrating when you pay $90 for a new timer and it gives you a all new problem.

Oh and now I look under the parts list and they show 2 different timers. Did maybe I order the wrong one? One shows a timer and then it says "Clutch"--what does this mean?

Great, looking at other threads it looks like Maytag didn't inform anybody there are two different timers! I knew I should have told the seller to take their Maytag units and bought a Whirpool.
