I am working on a client’s microwave, GE space maker JVM1860cd002. She said the night light stopped working. She called the GE hotline and they said it was behind the vent at the top where the charcoal filter is. I have taken it apart and the only light I can find is the one that lights up the inside of the oven.

Part # and location would be of great help!

The night light is usually at the bottom of the microwave. Not sure what GE hotline meant but I have an idea. This microwave uses 2 bulbs for night light and one bulb for interior light. All three bulbs are the same. So, they probably found the bulb in the part list but confused the location with the interior light. See number 19 on this diagram: Model JVM1860CD002 -- There is one at the top center and two more below the microwave cavity. We have the bulb in stock and you can order through the above link.

If the night light is completely inoperable, and considering that there are two light bulbs, I would check the light switch as well. We don't know whether one of the bulbs went out a while ago and the second one just quit or whether the switch is bad.

Hope this helps.
