Hi everyone, new to this forum.

I have a problem with all the GE appliances that came with my house I purchased a couple of years ago.

The main problem is the Advantium microwave. It suddenly quit while heating some food tonight. When it is turned on, there is some barely audible ticking for about 10 seconds and then quiet. It does not heat at all. I suspect the magnetron or something else in that circuit is dead.

I was downgraded at my job, so don't have money to pay a repairman.
I was a HVAC controls application engineer, so I am familiar with meters & test equipment and know I can do repairs, just never messed with appliances.

Any Ideas where to start?

After this I need to tackle the dish washer that decided to quit at about the same time. I hope the washer, dryer & stove don't decide to join in on the other appliances strike!

Check the oven cavity TCO (#1430 on the break down diagram) for continuity. Replace if it's open. The microwave has to be removed from the cabinet for all diagnosis.

Here are the break down diagrams for the GE microwave Model SCA2000BBB03
