Good morning, Looking at the motor pump mechanism diagram. I see i have a cut in part 455. Which is spewing water out from underneath the dishwasher. I could describe it better as a 1/2 inch slit of a cut. The cut is slightly above the metal clamp holding part 455 on to the housing pump assembly. I've ordered part 455. It's only a $10 part plus $8 shipping. This probably happend because of age (11 years old), maybe??? I'm not extremely handy, but is this something relatively easy to switch out and should i replace anything else at the same time? Thanks.

There may be some good info here http://www.applianceaid.com/ge-dish.htmlYou should not need any other parts. Get as much water out of the sump/pump as you can. A turkey baster comes in handy for this. Be sure to unplug or remove power from the unit when working on it. You may find it easier to uninstall the dishwasher for this repair but it can be done with the unit in place. Be sure to add a couple quarts of water before running it for the first time after the repair. These unit do not like to run when dry and can ruin the pump seals. |
