Hello- I have a Kenmore washer, model 110.26712690 that will not agitate or spin. I decided it might be the motor couplings, which I actually have had to replace before. After disassembling the washer, I did find some black shavings underneath the washer. I had an AWFUL time trying to remove the pump--the drive motor shaft & the part it fits into on the pump are both extremely rusty. I've now removed the drive motor, & the isolation & couplings are definitely disintegrated, but I am wondering if I'm going to need to replace the pump as well. What has caused it & the drive motor shaft to get so rusty? Thoughts? Feedback? Thanks in advance. PK

You have a leaky pump, just remove the clips and pound the pump off carefully to prevent damage to the motor. You will need a file and emory paper to clean off the rust from the motor shaft

Thanks- Will order a new pump, too. Anything else you think I need to check? I'm definitely a novice with repairs. I appreciate your help. PK
