Is the problem more likely to be in the turntable motor or is there a switch that could be burned out ? How difficult is motor or switch replacement ?

Richard,

The turntale motor could be the problem,

Part number: AP4063781
Part number: AP4063781

But it's most likely a bad relay on the control board,

Part number: AP330204
Part number: AP330204

To access the turntable motor:

1) Turn the microwave on it's back (you may be able to and avoid this step).
2) Remove the 3 screws securing the bottom plate to the oven cavity.
3) Disconnect the wires from the turntable motor and the lamp.

Once you get access to the turntable motor, you can check for voltage from the relay by inserting the meter probes in the wire connectors, and start a short cook cycle and check, no voltage= bad relay or broken wire, have voltage= bad turntable motor.

Good Luck,
:) :) :)
