We have a He3 that came with the house. It is about 4 years old give or take a year or two. It has started to make a very loud rattling sound, like stainless steal banging on stainless steel when it spins. When I attempt to move the inside around it does not do it so I am assuming it is an attachment/anchor of some sort that is loose. Is there any common parts that come loose and if so is it worth the effort to fix it or just purchase a new washer? How much trouble is it to take apart and work on? Any ideas/information is much appreciated!

Take the bottom front panel off, and there are 4 shock absorbers. 2 in the front and 2 in the back, and see if one of them are not broken. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

I did check, all four appear to be attached. It looks like the whole thing is banging against the back panel. I can't see anything other than the shocks that would prevent it. They are pretty week. Is there a field test I can use to determine if they need to be replaced or is there another mechanism I can't see that should be reducing the amount of motion in the unit? Thanks!

None, that I am aware of. Those shocks do get soft. If there is no loud noise in the spin cycle, like a loud bearing, I would go with the shocks. Tom ApplianceEducator.com
