When I open the door to the refig, I heard a popping sound and the light went out. Did my research and concluded it was the control panel. I called Whirlpool and they gave me a quote. I called you to order the part and your technician indicated I don't have a control panel. Can you help determine the problem and what I need to order. Light in freezer still works and I changed the bulb three times with new bulbs. None of the solved the problem.

Here are your parts Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL GS5SHAXNL01 REFRIGERATOR | AppliancePartsPros.comSee the attachment for your tech sheet. I think it is just a terminology problem. You do not have a control panel but you do have a control board (Item 18 in Section 11) which is in the fridge light circuit. I am assuming that the crisper lights also do not work and that you have checked the fridge light switch. Since you heard a pop odds are you will see some damage to the board. |

Not sure but it looks like you get at it from the back of the fridge by removing the rear cover. Be sure to unplug the unit when doing this.
Also a good time to clean the condenser coils and fan. |
