There is nothing displayed on the touch pad of my built-in electric double oven. Neither the top nor the bottom oven will work. There is an audible beep when I touch the pad's buttons, but no time or temperature display and neither oven works.

Both inside bulbs light when I open the oven doors, and the timer still works (beeps after 1 minute checked on my watch); although, you can't see the set time or countdown on the display.

I've checked circuit breakers, switched power off and (after a few minutes) on to try a hard boot of the computerized parts, cleaned small amount of dust from the components behind the display panel (including the control board), and unseated and re-seated all connections I could reach without totally pulling the oven out of the wall. Nothing changes. :( Installed by builder when the house was built, so no warranty. Please help.

Mais,

Sounds like your control transformer or fuse has failed.

Part number: AP3968801
Part number: AP3968801

Part number: AP3110028
Part number: AP3110028

If you have a multi meter, you could check for the voltages at the main control board,

At the P16 connector :

Insert the meter probes in the wire insertion side , or lift the connector up slightly.
Red wire Pin #5 and Red wire pin#7 should read 120 VAC across the 2 pins.
No voltage would indicate an open thermal fuse.
Blue wire Pin#2 and Blue wire Pin#3 you should read at least 20 VAC across the 2 pins.
No voltage indicates and bad transformer.
If all the checks here are correct, you'd have a bad control board.

Part number: AP3595759
Part number: AP3595759

You also want to check connector P18 pin#3Black wire for 120 VAC, to confirm you do have 120 VAC, on the L1 power supply to the oven.

Good Luck,

:) :) :)

Thank you for the prompt reply. Checked those points. It must be the control board, but those are not manufactured anymore and can't find one in stock anywhere.

Found a place in Austin to send the board itself for repair for a little over $100. Otherwise looking at thousands to replace the whole double oven. Hope they will be successful; no cost if they aren't, so nothing to lose now.

I really appreciate this site and it's helpful experts. :)

Mais,

We're happy you have it diagnosed.

I was hoping you wouldn't need the control board, that does happen, occasionally.

Most remanufacturers are really good as far as rebuilding and upgrading, control boards, I think you'll be fine when you get it back.

Thanks

Good Luck,

:) :) :)
