4 year old Maytag diswasher. A few weeks ago the panel lights went out and the unit stopped responding. 10 minutes later it was totally fine and running again after doing nothing. Yesterday the same thing happen but this time it never recovered. Panel lights are out, no reponse whatsoever with some water in the bottom so I think it stopped in mid-cycle. Acting the same as if I disconnected the power. Checked the breaker and reset just in case, still nothing. Any idea what to check or replace parts-wise? Thanks in advance for the help.

Checked power last night and the main board behind the control panel is getting juice as is the rest of the unit. I read something about the ribbon between the panel and board getting dirty and sometimes causing weird things with the panel lights... but for none of them to work? I even tried a new board and still nothing. Anyone else have a suggestion to test?

Cleaned the ribbon and still nothing. As a last resort I checked the junction box because I had read something about the connections becomming loose over time (didn't think that was the case because there was some power flow thru the unit) and just removing the cover did the trick! No idea why, possibly a funky ground or it pushing on the wires enough to cause an issue, but now it's working as normal. Anyone with control panel issues should check this first even if they are getting power readings from the unit. Hope this helps!
