Hi,
My Tappan microwave will lose power and shut off like we had a power outage, everytime I try to heat something, and the clock, fan, lights, all works except for the power setting button, I can press reset, and repeat it, I also tried to reset the clock, but that didn't help either. The unit is 2 years old. Does anyone have any ideas. Does this sound like a bad transformer?
Thanks, Tim

Hi Tim,
I'm afraid I did not get it clear. You closed the door, set the cooking time and pushed the Start button - what happened after?
Gene.

Hi Gene,
Thanks for the response. Sorry I might not have been clear. I close the door, set cook time, push the start button, it will run for maybe 3-4 seconds and shut off like the electric went off, the display will come back on to 00:00 and then show this on the display :0, I then can push clear a couple times, reset the clock and do it all again.
Thanks, Tim

Sounds like there are leakage of Electromagnetic waves from the magnetron, interfering with the control board. The correction of such problem is replacing the magnetron. - The part number for the magnetron is AP3960618Here are the break down diagrams for the Tappan microwave Model TMV151FBAGene.
