Electric dryer started shutting off during cycle about 3 months ago. Once, cooled (approx.30min.) it would start up again. Yet, if you press the start button during this 30 min. period it would run, but would not stay on. Yesterday, dried 1 ld. and never did run again. I hit the start button and now I get a buzzer sound (like the one that tells you load is done). What could be the problem? Thx.

Most likely the problem with your dryer is a bad motor. It's overheating and the overload protector shuts off the power to the start winding. After it cools down and power restores it works again till next overheating. In such situation the motor has to be replaced. The part number for the new motor is AP3094245 . If you need an instructions how to replace it I'll be glad to help you.
Good luck.
Gene.

Gene,
Thank-you so much for your prompt reply. I do need some instruction on how to remove motor. What would be your suggestion in regards the idea of a new motor vs a new dryer. And is there a way to test the motor to verify it is bad. Thx appbaffled
