My Whirilpool Quiet Partner is anything but quiet. I had to remove the unit to replace a faulty sensor and thought I would also find the cause of the noise. I saw some others here that replaced a bearing in this same model that fixed the noise. However, after examiniing my motor I don't believe a bearing is to blame. The motor seems solid. The shaft has no play in it.

The noise it makes sound a bit like vibrating pipes. In fact, when I turn the faucet on the noise changes or lessens (though it does not go away). If I put my hand on the copper pipe to the washer, the noise also lessens. Also, seems like the noise vibrates throughout the house because I can hear some pipes in the bathroom being noisy too while the dishwasher is running.

I should add that it is only noisy when filling with water. As the cycle runs, the washer is fine. But if it ever needs water at the beginning of a cycle, that's when the noise occurs.
So I think that I either need replace the copper pipe with a flexible pipe. Are there any that exist? Is that recommended for a hot water dishwasher?

Or is there some sort of beather I can install on the line? Maybe the water pressure is creating a vaccum and causing the pipes to shake. But I know nothing about plumbing.

thanks for your advice!

I replaced my copper pipe with a stainless hose and it eliminated the noise problem.
