I determined through reading the forum that the magnatron of my microwave has failed. The microwave had stopped heating and at the same time starting humming louder. I ordered the Magnatron parts kit (GE Part Number - AP4564705) ( Part Details - GEH MAGNETRON, part number: AP4564705). My issue is that I am unable to locate where the two diodes are within the microwave that are included in the kit. Should I just install the Magnatron and the aluminum deflector disk and forget about the diodes? Thanks, Mark

Hi Mark, There is only one high voltage diode used in your microwave. It is shown as #50 on the diagram and is connected to the high voltage capacitor. You can keep the second diode as a spare one. Gene.

I did not recognize it in the microwave because it was covered in shrink tubing and the original diode is a rectangular shape, where as the replacement diode is tubular in shape. My repair was a success, I am very happy that I did not end up with any spare parts, and the microwave actually heats water! :) The repair cost was a little over $100.00, a replacement microwave would have been over $500.00Thanks again for your assistance and advice,Mark

You are welcome Mark. I'm glad you were able to fix it. Good job!
