Hello
When I start my whirlpool microwave there is a chatter noise from the top of the unit and the breaker trips within 3 seconds. The noise sounds like there is something in the fan. It is an over the range model and I don't want to pull it down until I have some idea as to the type of repair needed. I sure could use some help, any would be appreciated.
Thanks Bill

Hi Bill, The first failure suspect is a shorted hi-voltage capacitor which you have to discharge before proceeding with any tests. Read this article before you do anything else. - The part number for the capacitor is AP4295779 Here are the break down diagrams for the Whirlpool microwave Model MH1170XSS0Gene.
