I had a problem with my whirlpool not always continuing the spin cycle. When I talked to a mechanic at the parts place, he mentioned that some whirlpools have a pause in the spin cycle. This is what I am having a problem with. It does not always continue. I have to lift the lid and shut it again to make it spin again. Has anyone seen this problem before?
I just tore the machine apart. New drive block (was good just looked corroded, center post gasket (I think it's called), dogs, and coupling. Checked the clutch and brakes while I had it apart and everything looks really good (took out transmission and spin tube). Just wondering what anyone thinks. It also had a new lid switch and timer recently and that didn't help either. This is just wierd.
Thanks

The timer is usually the cause of this problem in that it does not stop in order to let the transmission shift into drain mode.
I am thinking the problem is with the transmission since you have replaced the timer.
