The oven heats and has a flame on broil but dosen't heat on bake.
What might I look for to fix this problem?

Most common problem is the bake ignitor, this one should work for you.
Part Details - GE Oven or broiler igniter, round style, part number: WB2X9154

I have a tappan model tef361esc its is only 3 years old and just the other day we went to bake in the oven and it would not heat up to the set temp. what could be wrong with my oven.:confused:

Since yours is an electric oven it could be a couple of things. Did it heat at all?

Will this work on the hotpoint model I have? It is a gas oven.

it got warm but never got to the temp set. we did try the broil and that worked

yes that will work Hotpoint is made by GE

You need to check the wires and voltage going to the bake element.

Will the broiler still light if the bake ignitor doesn't?
