How do you check to see if the Magnetron (part # AP3881382) is bad. I would like to insure this is the problem before I order a new one from your parts dept. Thank You in advance for your help. Joe Priest

Unplug the filament connector and do a continuity check between the terminals. Also see if any of the terminals has continuity to the chassis, or metal body of the magnetron
Look at the magnets; checking for any cracks or broken pieces.

Look at the magnets; checking for any cracks or broken pieces. I have continuity from one terminal to the other on the filament and I also have continuity from both filament terminals to the chassis. If I have read the wiring diagram that is stored inside of the microwave correctly the test results is a defective magnetron. Please let me know if my concludion is correct or not. If the magnetron is defective please advise me if the new magnetron that I will be purchasing from your parts dept. comes with the attached thermo and if not should i order a new one or should the present one be ok. Thanks for your valuable time and advise. Joe Priest

You are correct in your analysis of the bad magnetron. The attached thermal cut out should show continuity across its terminals. If it does, you'll need to use it. The replacement mag does not come with one.
