Microwave power, clock, turntable, settings work fine, however, does not heat, no unusual sound. What should I check?

Hi Daria,

Before you proceed with the troubleshooting carefully read all safety instructions in the tech sheets.

Check the secondary interlock switch as described in the tech sheets.

If the switch is fine, then remove the White and the Red wires from the transformer and check for 120VAC between these wires while the control calls for heat and the door is closed.

If there is no 120VAC then replace the control board.

If there is 120VAC then replace the magnetron.

Here are the break down diagrams for the Kitchen Aid microwave Model KCMS185JSS0
