We went through a hysterical installation, only to find the plastic door latch is stuck in the door. The microwave will not work because it insists that the door is open. I cannot remove the latch from the door. Though the unit is under warranty, it seems like a waste to uninstall and replace it just because of this plastic latch. Is there a trick to getting it out of the door?

We are getting a technician to come out to us on Tuesday, January 11. Perhaps we can get help here before then; if not, we'll just cool our heels, I guess.

I got the plastic part of the door latch out today. However, the microwave still thinks the door is open.

I glued the part back on and it seems to work now. I'll still have the techician look at it.
