Whirlpool dishwasher parts - replace motor or motor AND pump?

My Whirlpool Quiet Partner (DUC600XTPQ7) makes a continuous noise when it is operating...I checked the chopper..no clogs... reassembled it and the noise continues. From other posts it looks like I should replace the motor....I read one of Gene's posts that said it was easier/more reliable to replace the combined motor and pump than just the motor...
1. what part is that? 2. HOW do you replace it? are there directions somewhere? Is it a hard repair?
Thanks!!!

is this a repair that i should consider doing? i am relatively handy, I would give it a try and I am also just relatively handy. Just take your time mark or make a diagram of anything that can connect in more than one way.
Also I am a big fan of putting a very light coating of lithium grease on gaskets/seals etc. before installing. It just seems to help things go in easier.
is it an easier repair to buy the whole thing? Yes it is and the odds of having problems down the road are less.
Throw a quart or two of hot water into the unit before starting it up after the repair. Pumps do not like to run dry. |
