I have a two year old microwave that is currently not usable due to problems with the keypad. Over the last two months or so, I had problems where when selecting buttons on the microwave, sometimes after pressing a button the microwave would act as if there had been a power outage and would request that I set the time before I could use it. This became more frequent to the point where it was difficult to use, and now you can't press anything without getting "please set time" and since each button press results in this, you can't use the microwave at all.

Any suggestions? I haven't taken apart the front of the microwave yet and am not sure if I should order parts before I begin to dissassemble it.

I would check for bad connections before ordering any parts. Check the connection at any plug and if you can remove the control board and check for bad solder connections.
