I have a 10 year old Viking 36" 6 burner gas range. The bottom of the oven...."oven bottom assembly" part # G3204252..that is the very bottom panel of floor..actually like a sub floor....the panel under the oven floor.. has cracked and what appears to be hardened "to lava stage" insulation fell out of it..looks like glass with pieces of white cottony insulation attached. The replacement panel is $350+tax and installation....
I need to know if it is safe to continue to use the oven...is it a fire hazard?
Will I do further damage to the range by using it without replacing it??
Any information will be appreciated. Thanks Carol

any response to this issue. I am having the same problem and wondering if I need the whole bottom pan with heat shield attached or if I can buy just the heat shield separately
