I have a Maytag Neptune front loading washer that has started to get very loud during the spin cycle. It mimics the sound of a jet. If we wash at night it wakes up the kids. It is very noisy. Seems to still work fine but we are literally starting to worry about hearing loss. Any ideas what the problem may be and how to fix it? Thanks!

You have bad bearings. You can go to my article on replacing Neptune bearings. If a MAH3000 or MAH4000, don't let it run too long, you will burn out the motor and motor drive electronics.

See NEPTUNE BEARING for bearing and seal kits plus you can rent the tony tool which was designed specifically for the Neptune bearing change.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but better and cheaper sealed bearings are available from any automotive store, plus zero shipping!! Also, this site has the bearings plus the seal. More convenient to order from this site as the automotive store cannot supply the seal.
