Help...
Just yesterday heated a cup of coffee ...then today the Microwave seems to function properly, the sound it makes is louder than normal and the microwave does not heat and cooking interior light does not work. The unit seems to make a not normal noise... and nothing cooks...
Any help would be appreciated!

I have the 002 model and it too, makes a loud buzzing noise and no cooking available. But my interior light works. I have seen another forum that said the magnetron and the diode for the magnetron needs replaced. Is this true? I am in need of more confidence that this is the problem and I am on the right track to repair. Magnetron is expensive, but cheaper than replacing the microwave entirely.

I looked up a similar replacement Micro and it looks like $1000+... I will spend 130.00 on a Magentron since it took me 5 years to learn how to use the GE Micro we have now and that since we live in a remote section of the country it will cost me $100.+ dollars for someone to come out and say...GEE Yup... It's ur god dern Meg-lo-don all rite...."
