Thanks for your help.

Had the same issue, mine was my infant's onesie jammed in the drain to the pump... simple fix once I found it.

My wife has washed a small carpet that broke down in pieces. So I have followed the instructions here and take out the pump, clean it and reinstall it.
The washer is doing the cycle, it spins and agitate, I can see that the transmission is working, the belt is running and even the pump fan is spinning!

So ..why then the water is not drained from the washer?

I can see and hear the pump spinning but no water movement at all.

Should I replace the pump because the clogging has affected the impaler?

Is it something wrong in the electronic board?

Please advice.

PS: I have a HOTPOINT model number VBXR1070W0AA

The drain hose is either crammed too tightly into the stand pipe, or clogged with carpet pieces.

Thank you for your reply.

I took the drain hose out and clean it and stick my finger inside the tube making sure that there are no other residues left. Still..the same result. Pump is humming but the water is not draining.

Is there a water valve somewhere? I was trying to identify it thinking that maybe a solenoid went bad.

It could be a bad pump.

When agitating the motor moves the belt, so that should mean both the belt and motor are good, right???

We have been finding parts of the pillow stuffing around the washing "bowl", but not inside at all. We did take off the outer hose and the water all drained out, but didn't see of the pillow stuffing come out. I'm guessing the problem has to be related to washing the pillow, because of the timing of the machine messing up right afterwards.

So we are stuck going to the laundry mat until we figure this out.

Please help. I don't have anything to check the voltage or anything like that. I have tried the "trick" of unplugging power for 1 minute, then plugging it in, then opening and shutting the lid 6 times in 30 seconds.

MODEL #: wbsb3140daww

I have this same issue. I just recently washed a pillow that tore open in the washer as well, @ magician59 can you please explain once more what it is you suggested to jcsaxx. I tried to follow the post about clearing the drain but I am still a little unclear.... ! @ jcsaxx would you mind telling me how you solved your issue? I am not too mechanically inclined but I am going to try!

A quick way to check to see if it's clogged is to take the drain hose out of the stand pipe and lower it to a level below that of the water in the tub. If water trickles out, or no flow at all, you'll likely have to replace it. This isn't 100% reliable, as water can possibly flow through the pump, and still the impeller can be clogged.
Here's a parts breakdown that shows the general construction of your machine. To open the cabinet, notice the spring clips about 4 inches from each front top corner (the machine top; not the console). While lifting each respective corner, push in against the clip with a flat tool (like a putty knife) until that corner releases. This will expose the screws that hold the front panel in place.

Have towels ready, because there will be water involved. The pump is the small motorized component with the hoses attached to it. Unplug the machine (Water and electricity really DO mix...and it's DEADLY.). Detatch the hoses from the pump and the tub. Check those places for items of clothing, lint clogs, or other foreign material that can block the drainage. The pump is anchored by one or two screws and the wire connector. Remove the pump and look into it for foreign material.

Remove the blockages that you might find and re-connect everything. Check the operation of the machine. It will run with the front panel off, so you can observe it.

If it drains after removing any clogs, You're done. Tell us what you find.

I have discover that the clogging happens not only inside the pump but also AFTER the pump. There is an elbow made by design in the evacuation hose that accumulates whatever residue you have. In my case was something that looks like solidified detergent.

Turn the washer so you can access the rear side, take the 2 screws out that are holding the hose and extract it after disconnect it from the pump.
Clean it and let some water to run until it does it freely. Reinstall it and if the pump is spinning then you are good to go.
