Hi; I am interested in the cut-in-temp for this thermostat. I know the cut out is 55 ,but it seems as though the various thermostats have different #'s on them. ie 55x25, 55x30, 55x35 etc. The one I have has 55x30 printed on the side and common sense would tell me this is the cut in temp. but I believe the specs are 35 cut in and 55 cut out. So does anyone know the cut in and cut out temp of the WR50X55? Also what the numbers on the Thermostat really means. Thanks, John

I beg to differ!!!!!!! Its marked 55-20, What this means is it OPENS at 55 degrees and CLOSES 20 degrees COLDER than it OPENS!!!!! Meaning,35 degrees is where it CLOSES!!! Yes, I'm sure, I've done the testing.:D

Well FISH, I won't argue this any further,(Theres No need) I would call TEC-LINE if I were you. Or just do the testing that I did. I ONLY have 30 years in the bussiness, So what could I possibly know???? ALL defrost thermostats are rated this way, And, by the way, In this case, YOU ARE WRONG!!!!! Well I know I'm curious to find out who's right because I was taught the line of thinking that abadfish66 has. And I may tend to believe what Draggs says about GE because GE does some pretty strange crap.And I also always thought that terminaton thermastats closed just under freezing or close to it anyway. So who's right? we don't have to put the gloves on to prove a point.But regardless of all that the bimetal just needs to open and close when its suppose to according to man. specs, it's not that big a deal because they are usually either good or bad I know there are the rare cases when one opens or closes late or early but not very often does that happen the snap disc usually fails when it's open.A good majority of them do anyway

Accepted Fish, Its NOT that I Feel the need to be RIGHT, Its just that when someone asks, I feel that its important that, That person NEEDS to get all the info. correctly. And Now, they are rating them in Celcius!!!!!!:D
